Agriculture in the Process of Development: A Micro-Perspective

This repository contains the data and Stata programs (version 14) required to replicate the tables and figures in Michler (2020) as well as the associated appendices. The programs generate all summary tables and figures. In order to construct the final regression tables, some manual editing (and copying/pasting across files) is required, so we do not reproduce them here. However, all relevant numbers are in the regression output generated by the programs files listed below.

The files are as follows:

• Ag_Process_Development_code.do replicates the all tables and graphics in the paper.
• Data_Extract_From_World_Development_Indicators.xlxs is data used for Figure 1.
• FAOSTAT_data_11-27-2018.csv is data used for Figures 2-4.
• WBDI.dta is data used for Figure 5 and 16.
• household_data.dta is data used for Figures 6, 7, 9, and 15.
• cultivation_data.dta is data used for Figures 8, 10, 11, and 12.
• cultivation_data.dta is data used for Figures 13 and 14.
