Yes, simply running `nix-env --version` will create a `~/.nix-profile` symlinked to `~/.local/state/nix/profiles/profile`, even if `~/.local/state/nix/profiles/profile` does not exist. See the classic issue: NixOS/nix#3051

I don't think this is necessary now that I fixed the logic that was creating this symlink in
npinglerin #62, but I'm opening this to save the code.
