- works best on windows 11 with PowerShell 7
- macOS/linux support tbd
- requires python
- run setup.ps1 → use desktop shortcut or `python seekr.py`
seekr supports "ingestion" through a file generated by soundiiz, which supports 40+ platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, TIDAL, and SoundCloud
build your crate on your favorite streaming platform, then check what you have in rekordbox already and create a shopping list for what you're missing with seekr
import the XML created by seekr into rekordbox to automatically create a playlist with the tracks from your crate that you have, run it again after dumping your shopping cart into rekordbox and it will catch the rest in a new playlist
no more searching track by track and manually creating crates from your streaming platform playlists - if you have the tracks in rekordbox, you can use soundiiz & this tool to effectively create your crate playlist 1:1 in rekordbox
- download or clone the repo
- run the setup script:
.\setup.ps1
the installer checks prerequisites, installs seekr to your home directory (~/seekr default), and creates a desktop shortcut.
- launch seekr from the desktop shortcut, or run it manually:
python seekr.pyseekr walks you through everything interactively:
-
search directories - on first run, seekr asks where your music lives. enter one or more folder paths. these are saved to
seekr-config.jsonso you only do this once. -
playlist file - export your playlist as JSON from soundiiz.com (connect your service → find playlist →
...menu → Export to File → JSON). either point seekr to the file when prompted, or drop it in theINPUT/folder beforehand and seekr picks it up automatically. -
output options - choose which outputs you want: a match report, a download list of missing tracks, and/or a rekordbox playlist XML. or just hit enter, defaults will give you everything.
-
results - seekr scans your filesystem of choice and rekordbox library, shows what matched and what's missing, generates a playlist XML (by default).
if you generated a playlist XML, see rekordbox import to get it into rekordbox, it's reliable but takes a few clicks. way less than manually searching for each track to create your crate playlist manually though (;
