Describe the bug

seemingly at random output audio is received as input audio. For instance discord audio is refilters as input. so anytime someone in discord talks I rebroadcast it.

Expected Behavior

Input is only input devices, out is only output devices.

I personally only want the mic processing, and do not want ANYTHING to touch the output audio for my device at all. Could you just add an interface to determine the what HW inputs and output if any to use.

Additional Information

Taking a look via Helvum patchbay routing is a total mess, only when easyeffects is running. and looks like everything is forced routed via it, even when it does not make sense. also of note is that the paths are not always the same boot to boot even though setting have not changed.

In this case disable process all outputs in EasyEffects preferences window. It is in the audio section. But have in mind that wireplumber tries to restore an audio stream to the device it used the last time. So even if you disable automatic management on EasyEffects side you may still have to manually move the streams to the proper place at least once.

The default configuration moves streams to EasyEffects. If you have a custom audio chain involving loopback devices or anything else pipewire implements through audio streams easyeffects will try to move them too. There is not much that can be done about that other than switching to manual management in easyeffects as I explained above.

I have no loopback devices, but when Easyeffects is open it sometimes does loopback audio anyways, even though no such loopback is seen in the patchbay...

Did you manually disable them? I am testing this right now and like I said before just disabling the setting in EasyEffects is not enough. WirePlumber cache has to be reset so it forgets the association it did to EasyEffects sinks. Consider the image below

. When automatic management is disabled you will see that each stream now has one more checkbox that allows effects to be manually enabled/disabled for them. In the test above mpv and vlc behave as they should immediately and were not using EasyEffects after automatic control was disabled. But for some reason WirePlumber cache for Firefox was harder to reset. I had to manually disable effects for Firefox a few times until it stopped being automatically moved to EasyEffects.
