Looks like it cannot handle multiple open files even in single-threaded mode:

Yes.

ZboxFS tries to be a (sort of) filesystem, but does not "walk the walk" as far as I tried to play with it.

It does support backup use case (files are written sequentially), but, for example, putting a database on it seems to be wrong idea even if issues I submitted get all resolved.

There can be a workaround on zboxmount side: track all unfinished writes and commit transaction when other file is being written.

When you write same file from multiple threads, thinking of the File as aRwLock, you cannot write it simultaneously because the file will be put in one transaction and transaction is exclusive, but you can read it in parallel.
