3geonames API could be useful as an alternative to the what3words API and H3geo for a universal set of coordinates. As we discussed at the AEC Hackathon, companies like KlokanTech as well as swisstopo and cantonal geo-offices have a lot of experience in this. This is an important part of the conversation around creating a common ontology for Linked Data services for modelling urban spaces, and the hope is we move towards a DNS-like addressing system that is transparently governed, "zoomable" and efficient.

CrossWind ⟵ also has a linked geo database, with ability to time travel across the graph (mentioned by @n0rdlicht during our AEC 2024 hackathon)
