This could easily be done by having a shapefile accessible of the current embedding tiles: just so users can see whether they are drawing their bounding boxes over an embedding area.
Will be less necessary in the long-term as embeddings cover the whole earth. But would remain useful for people at the coasts to see how far the mask extends out: and stop any open ocean people asking why the app doesn't work for them.
