Auto Scroll Speed when Mouse approaches ARROWS

Great plugin and we are using this on a client site. Client would like to stop the way that the scrolling 'accelerates' faster and faster as the mouse gets closer to the Nav Arrows?
Is there a way to set a Max Speed.
