I'm the sole developer of Podroid, an open-source Android app that runs a real Alpine Linux VM on stock Android without root. It provides rootless Podman, Docker, and LXC containers along with an in-app X11 Linux desktop. It runs on any device via QEMU software emulation, and on supported devices via hardware-accelerated virtualization (Android Virtualization Framework / pKVM).
