Using a remote --build-host results in `error: attribute 'extraBuiltins' missing`

Hi there,
After a fair bit of effort it seems that this does not work on a remote build-host. I'm on an ARM Mac and am building for a x86 linux machine and my guess is the `extra-builtins-file` can't be found on the build host. Any suggestions for such a situation?
