Is real time notifications supported?

Apologies if the title doesnt really describe this properly but does i3-notifier support showing notifications as they come in from applications i dont need to constantly check the notification list? If so is this a default thing or is it something you need to enable in the config?

This package is not really about what you are asking. You may want to checkout py3-notifier which works with py3status.
