Launch on device startup

Sorry if this is a silly question, but is it possible to start Essentials automatically after every reboot?
I've searched the repository but I have found no answer to this...

It might be an issue with my phone (Pixel 7a) or with the Shizuku dependency (which does include an autostart option in thedjchi's fork version), but I haven’t been able to get it to work unless I manually launch it each time.

I’m really enjoying the app and I’m considering using it for AppLock and other features so I can uninstall a bunch of other apps, but if it can’t start automatically, I can’t rely on it as a full replacement.

So is your issue related to shizuku services not starting automatically or the app itself? I don't reboot often but when I do, I first open Essentials anyways and then realize Shizuku isn't started yet.

The Essentials app itself.

Shizuku in its latest versions can launch on startup.

Maybe you could add an "auto start on boot" setting? If toggled on, it could wait till it finds Shizuku service on and then everything would work without any user interaction.

It is just a suggestion. I'm liking so much the app so far. Still learning its features, but I can't no rely on the AppLock option, for instance, if I have to remember to start it on every launch...

In case you find it useful, I’m currently using this FOSS AppLock: https://github.com/aload0/AppLock

It allows using the Shizuku service and so far it has worked without issues for me, always starting on boot.

Maybe its code can give some ideas of how to handle the start launch.

I will add this support, I think I initially had it and removed as Google now heavily discouraging apps using the at boot listener but since we don't publish to play store, won't matter I assume :D
