Disable comments in source but not DTS

I personally like heavily commenting my source code with TSDoc for solid documentation in the IDE, but a large chunk of my published package size is due to duplicate comments in both my .js and .d.ts files.

For example:

Both these files have the full TSDocs, but is it necessary for me to publish the same comment in both files or only the .d.ts files? Is there an option where I can strip the comments in the source code without having to minify it?

It's an awkward balance where I don't want to publish minified files for an NPM package, but also want to reduce package size by removing duplicated documentation.

Currently, Rolldown does not support this feature natively, but you can create a Rolldown plugin to strip comments.

Looks like i had found the solution:

	outputOptions: {
		comments: {
			jsdoc: false,
		},
	},
	dts: {
		compilerOptions: {
			removeComments: false,
		},
	},
};

this way comments are removed from js files while still present in d.ts files

PS:
After testing a bit more looks like just

{
	outputOptions: {
		comments: {
			jsdoc: false,
		},
	},
};

works as well because dts.compilerOptions.removeComments is false by default
