This is Robin Hillyard (scalaprof), the originator of this project. It's always been something I wanted to write since I took my first steps in programming in 1968. Back then, we had integers and 32-bit floating point numbers. It was easy to create a garbage-in-garbage-out scenario but there was no easy way to know that the output was garbage because we had no way of estimating the error bounds on a quantity. Scala made it possible to write it the way I wanted.
As I write this, the project is already four and a half years old and we are at version 1.2.2. However, there is much that I want to do in terms of redesigning the type hierarchy. I'm definitely looking for ideas and help! I look forward to collaborating with you.
