v1.0.0 hygiene + release (tracking)

Tracking issue for the final v1.0.0 release.

Numerical gate — DONE. The Levante HPC global ICON+ETOPO run completed GREEN (2026-06-02); validate_chunks reports all chunks sensible. Final downstream sanity check before tagging: confirm the MS-GWaM orography run on Levante (driven by the generated pyCSA output) runs and is physical. Once that is confirmed, do the version bump + tag below.

Hygiene checklist — DONE

• All preceding Phase C issues closed. (Implement scoring algorithm #9, Test package in a fresh environment #15, Standardise language #16, Complete full refactoring of codebase #20 closed 2026-06-04/05; only Data structure optimisation #12 — low-priority data-structure optimisation — deferred post-v1.0.0.)
• All TODO/FIXME/XXX/HACK markers in pycsa/ resolved — 0 markers remain (verified 2026-06-04).
• Stray untracked files reviewed — all six gone from the tree (verified 2026-06-04).
• CI green on main (all jobs, all matrix Pythons) — latest commit 170fc88 green (2026-06-06).

Release checklist (after MS-GWaM confirmation)

• Bumped 1.0.0rc1 → 1.0.0 in all three: pyproject.toml, pycsa/__init__.py, CITATION.cff (commit 20f5171, 2026-06-09).
• Promoted changelog heading → 1.0.0 (2026-06-09) in CHANGELOG.rst.
• Tagged v1.0.0 + pushed to origin (2026-06-09).

Zenodo / DOI

• Zenodo enabled; v1.0.0 archived → DOI 10.5281/zenodo.20634759 minted (2026-06-10). Required re-authorising the stale GitHub↔Zenodo link after the pyCSAM→pyCSA rename.
• DOI badge added to README + doi: in CITATION.cff (commit 46d85db).
