XXkb exhibits unexpected behavior when the window manager is reloaded. This issue was observed with IceWM but is likely reproducible with other window managers that support system trays.
When XXkb is running and the window manager is reloaded (e.g., via restart or reload command), the following issues occur:
- XXkb is removed from the system tray: The tray no longer displays the XXkb icon, and an empty space may appear in its place
- XXkb appears in the taskbar: The application, previously docked in the tray, is now displayed as a standard taskbar window
- XXkb becomes unresponsive: The application ceases to function correctly, and interactions with the taskbar entry or any remaining tray placeholder have no effect
This is very annoying behavior, so I will investigate it further. I would welcome it if anyone could confirm this behavior with the same (or different) window manager.
