Day 2 is too long; pacing #2

The material went about 5 minutes over. A lot of time was sunk into the .gitignore discussion, circulating and helping students troubleshoot issues with their repos. Going through the six common mistakes and aspects of the staging area was badly rushed, and students probably just watched.

There was some confusion that the students' job was to create a file called .gitignore in the repo's root directory. This probably wasted 2-3 minutes.

One way to bring it down might be to drop some of the detailed stuff about .gitignore, such as all the glob patterns, and after a tight amount of time, simply display the "correct" .gitignore and give students a chance to amend it.
