FR: "Clear all" button

It's so annoying when I need to delete previous scans one by one, can we have clear all button or something?

At the bottom of the export screen, there's a "New scan" button that deletes all scanned pages to start a new "scan" (which may have multiple pages).
Since you're not the first person to ask for this, I'd be interested to know what made you look for a different solution. That could help improve the app.

I really like the new workflow with fewer intermediary steps to loop through the process, but even having discussed the initial workflow and seen it come through there is something just a little jarring / unexpected about the UX that has even given me pause. The biggest surprise is how long my phone sometimes keeps the activity around so I can pop open the app and sometimes get a scan from the day before or last week.

Two ideas:

• Maybe separate the shore/export options from the "new scan" button more dramatically. Have the new scan be on the top of the screen or in a different color or something. It kind of feels like something similar to the export actions you take on the current scan. I can read that it says something else, but visually it does kind of blend in with that cluster of actions.
• Possibly have some sort of timeout on activities staying current in the background. Obviously unless Android does a memory cleanup it shouldn't get discarded in the background in 5 minutes or even 5 hours, but the likelihood of wanting to pickup and old jobs over 24 hours later seems pretty small compared to expecting to startup a new scan. Maybe a heuristic for it it had been shared / saved then make it clear out faster if backgrounded, otherwise try to hang onto it until memory gets cleared.

I made scans and saved them. Then I opened this app for scanning different stuff and saw my previous scans, which were again in my gallery because it saves all of them when I click save (I mean old + new). So I needed to delete my previous scans one by one before saving new ones (because I don't want duplicates in my gallery, the old scans are already saved, so why do I need to save them again with the new ones?).

@kamik-hub It sounds like it wasn't / isn't clear to you that "new scan" ditches all the images in the current scan operation and starts fresh.

@pynicolas In addition to my other suggestions perhaps making that clear with more wording would help. "New scan" could mean scanning a new page and adding it to the current set. "Clear and start new scan" or "finish and restart" or something like that might be more clear.

It would be very nice if a clear all button would appear, or if it would show old documents like Microsoft Lens or Adobe Scan, and if this saving feature could be an option in settings.

To be honest, I've been using the app for a few weeks and I wasn't saving anything, I was just sending, so I didn't notice the new scan button, but only now that I read the comments did I find out that it exists, but in any case, it would be good if there was a clear all option at three points during the scan.

@kamik-hub @Stefan-alamor-sibiu Let me try to clarify: a "scan" may contain multiples "pages". FairScan doesn't store previous scans (unlike many apps) because I don't want it to take responsibility for that. When you tap "New scan" or when you delete a page, FairScan deletes internal data about those pages. @alerque Technically, pages are stored on disk (not memory), and this is on purpose to not lose data without an explicit user action.

I'm not going to add a "clear all" button because there's already "New scan" which does exactly that.

@alerque I'll think about your suggestion to visually separate the "New scan" button from "Save" and "Share".

Obviously the wording of "New scan" doesn't communicate what the button does properly to everybody. Besides some of the previous suggestions like "clear and start new scan" wording like "start over" might trip people out of thinking it's just going to add a new page.
