I use the integrated browser beside my threads to look things up while an agent works: an error message, a library's docs, a flag I've forgotten. In every other browser I just type what I'm looking for into the address bar and press Enter.
What happens today
The address bar only accepts URLs. Typing a few words, like react useEffect cleanup, and pressing Enter leaves the page as it was and shows no error. One word, like vitest, opens https://vitest/ and fails to load. To search, I first open a search engine's address, wait for it to load, and type my search again there.
What I'd like
When what I type isn't a URL, search for it with a default search engine, as other browsers do. A setting to choose the engine would be nice to have.
At minimum, the bar should show a message when it can't open what I typed.
