This are the 3 test done (X-plane)
- If you start the ACARS before the sim, when the sim gets up and running to moves from "Connecting to Sim ..." and identify it is running (this works sometimes and sometimes no. as updated below)
- If you "Pause" and "Unpause" it does continue to work. Data stops changing while in "Pause" and when unpaused it does continue getting data, but does not highlight that the sim has paused (This test was on the ground, but as mentioned later in the air does work)
- If the sim crashes/close, it does not detect that the connectivity was lost but you can see data stops flowing, and when you restart the sim, it does not reconnect, and you need to close and reopen ACARS for it to retake the flight. Somebody may think it reconnected as no error message is identified, but if you open the data window nothing is flowing.
