Thanks for thinking this through! They're the same concept, so one word is right. Global tags and category tags are the same primitive — a label you attach to a transaction. The only difference is scope: global tags are a flat pool available everywhere, while category tags are the same kind of tag just grouped into per-category tag sets (dimensions like Store / Project / Payment Method). There's no Stichwort↔Schlagwort distinction in the data — both are content descriptors the user assigns. So I'd unify on „Schlagwort“ (also matches Nextcloud core's German for tags), with „Schlagwortgruppe“ for "tag set". „Stichwort“ would be the wrong nuance. Your instinct to use one term throughout is spot on. |

Hey,
while translating I stumbled onto different German translations for the word "tag". I unified them all to "Schlagwort", because it made sense to me then.
However, now that I saw even more strings, I'm wondering: Is there conceptually a difference between Global tags and Category tags, which would justify semantically separating these two from another, e.g. with
tagandkeyword?A quick example, in German there is "Stichwort" and "Schlagwort". While they are often used interchangeably, they mean slightly different things
Stichwörterare the terms that appear in the title or subtitle of a document. However, the titles of documents often give little clue about their actual content. For example, the book "Wunderbare Welt" deals with marine crustaceans, but its title does not reveal that subject at all.Schlagwörter(also called descriptors or subject headings) are assigned to a document based on its content. They are usually drawn from a controlled vocabulary taken from a standardized list such as a thesaurus. However, if they are just the same concept, but one is global and the other one per category, I'd suggest using the same word for both (as it is currently done in English)
Any opinion on this? Maybe also perspectives from other German-Speakers on what word you'd use ("Schlagwort", "Stichwort", "Schlüsselwort", oder doch einfach "Tag"?
