Towards version 2.0.0

Welcome back, everyone.

The most observant among you will have noticed that a change has been made to the roadmap.

As much as I regret it and agree that it shouldn't be done, in this case after careful reflection I believe it was the right course of action.

Rolling out two consecutive major releases that alter fundamental operating mechanisms is certainly not something you, as a user, want to deal with while developing your applications.

Therefore, I preferred to immediately consolidate:

• The reworking of the board families, rather than also adding pre-configured presets for the most common board.
• Using extension packages via php/pie
• A new flash tool redesigned from scratch with pie inherent modularity.

From version 2.0.0 onwards, there will (hopefully) be no further changes to the core and the mechanisms that drive the entire system.
All updates and drivers will be released in separate repositories dedicated to that specific application aspect.

Version 2.0.0 is scheduled for mid-to-late November.
