What we have:

• Dynamic patch/hook
• Crossplatform translation installer with GUI
  • all the translation pipeline for the installer
• Multilingual landing page/site which should help to find the project through search engines like google: https://dfint.github.io

TODO:

• Static patch - work in progress
  • Implement static patch in zig or rust?
• Update installer to use the static patch
• Translate external text files from installer
• Integration of a changetext script, which will make it possible to fix grammatical problems (e.g., change word order or word forms according to the context). The script itself will be different for every language, so an effort from people with programming skills will be needed.

Why the static patch it needed?

Static patching is more precise, and it will fix some common problems of the dynamic patch:

• double translation (like in Polish: they -> one -> jeden)
• by-word translation in text with word wrap
• translation of directory names of the DF mods...

But:

• static patch is a more complex thing, so it needs a lot of work and a lot of time to debug it

Other plans (may be someday...)

• Steam integration?
