Hey! Easiest way to make your GitHub profile pop is to use a README generator.

Check out gprm.itsvg.in - "GitHub Profile README Generator"
It lets you add stats, badges, tech stack, socials etc in like 2 mins without writing markdown from scratch.

Then pin 2-3 of your best repos, add a profile pic + bio.
That + activity graph = people actually stop and look 👀

However, just like editing photos, rebasing should be done carefully to avoid conflicts and ensure clarity in collaborative projects.

rebasing is a way to integrate changes from one branch into another by moving or reapplying commits on top of another base commit. Unlike merging, which combines branches while keeping the history intact, rebasing rewrites the commit history, making it appear as though the changes were developed in a linear sequence

I understand how github is used for software development, but I was reading that some news organizations are using it for the iterative process of writing.

Example:
https://generative-ai-newsroom.com/decoding-bureaucracy-5b0c1411171 (describing use of chatgpt to summarize policies so they could be written about more easily - elsewhere, the journalists mention they use github to iteratively track prompts)

The focus of that article and other related links is the use of ai in newsrooms, not the use of github, but I'd love to look at repros, projects, developers, and even Readme docs used by folks using guthub to write and/or for tracking prompt modifications with results.

I think I can see how branches could be used for iterating on prompts or topics or whatever, but I can't imagine how this could be used over a large project with a group of authors, but I'm certain someone has done this.

Any suggestions, examples, or docs?

GitHub’s version-control features ensure that changes can be added to a project without overriding others' work, making it ideal not just for code but also for collaborative projects like managing lists of information, such as recipes, reading materials, or freely available programming books. so yes its also suitable for such applications you mentioned

Write your commit messages in a very clear and to the point way, focusing on what the commit does, not how. Write about major changed that were made. Start with a brief summary (50 characters or less), and follow with more detail if necessary. Use the imperative mood, like "Add" or "Fix," to describe what the commit does.

It means that the person is on a Mac, so the tilde symbol is the home folder, and Documents is your documents folder. So, you get ~/documents and to get there, you go to your home folder, then click on Documents.

That video series is cool, but what is a commit change? Why is it used often?

In this page, the command git config –list should be corrected to git config --list. The original command uses an en dash (–) instead of two hyphens (--), which is incorrect. The correct command is git config --list, using two hyphens.

got to the repo you want to delete, select Settings, scroll all the way down to "Danger Zone" and click "delete this repo"

I’m following this GitHub Git+GitHub learning series and it’s been incredibly helpful.
I recently built my APK-focused site https://inshotzpros.com/ for InShot Mod Pro APK, and started using Git to manage content updates and theme customizations more efficiently.

Even though my site isn’t a traditional code project, I found that Git workflow helps with version control and organizing site assets.

True, Lucas and I do agree with you. It is a good resource for beginners, and you start getting comfortable with it once you learn the basics. For example, you get to understand what GitHub is, creating a repository, merge, commit changes, and other topics.
