Hey everyone, Thank you so much for the support, it means a lot, What I'm working on right now:

• Refactoring some parts Rust code (I managed to reduce binary since by ~10%)
• I'll setup proper notes for releases and post on https://x.com/VoltiusApp
• Work on the Docs
• Next I'll work on Android & Ios

Keep In mind Im solo on this project and I dont have much free time but Im doing my best. If you have any questions, ask it here, I'll do my best to answer.

As someone asked me, I'll soon check if I can add build .rpm for fedora users.

Awesome work this tool is so good and a pretty nice alternative to Termius :)

on CachyOS it is a bit laggy ... but it is okay for me 👍

[kipavy]

Actually, hold that thought — it may well be on my side rather than Cachy's.

Voltius applies an automatic Linux workaround at startup: when it detects an NVIDIA driver (or when you're running the AppImage) it sets WEBKIT_DISABLE_DMABUF_RENDERER=1. That's there to fix a white/blank window some people hit, but it also drops WebKitGTK off its GPU-accelerated rendering path — which would look exactly like what you're describing, a small delay while typing. So the iGPU test might "fix" it just by making my workaround stop firing.

Before swapping GPUs, could you try launching with the workaround disabled?

VOLTIUS_NO_LINUX_GFX_WORKAROUNDS=1 voltius

(AppImage: VOLTIUS_NO_LINUX_GFX_WORKAROUNDS=1 ./Voltius_*.AppImage)

If typing gets snappy, I've found it, and I'll narrow that workaround so it stops firing on setups that don't need it. If instead the window comes up white or blank, then the workaround is genuinely needed on your machine and I'll look for a fix that doesn't cost performance.

Three things that would help me either way:

1. AppImage or AUR package?
2. Wayland or X11? (echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE)
3. glxinfo -B | grep "OpenGL renderer"

Thanks for flagging it — "it's okay for me" is how bugs stay unfixed, so this is genuinely useful.

so normally on CachyOS i shouldn't need iGPU it should normally managed over vulkan and mesa but ... let me look

Tried this ... but it makes no difference

Thanks for testing — that rules out my workaround, and saved me shipping a fix that would have done nothing.

Next suspect is the AppImage itself: it bundles its own WebKitGTK (built on Ubuntu 24.04) instead of using Cachy's, which would explain sluggish rendering on a newer NVIDIA/Wayland stack.

I've opened #224 to track it properly rather than bury it in this thread — there's an A/B test there if you have a minute. 🙏
