openclaude configuration files

Howdy, wondering if there is/are supported configuration files, where they are located by openclaude and if there is a schema somewhere?

I'm packaging the bin with nix and creating a nixos/home-manager module, and it would be nice to be able to use a generator (like openapi, etc.) to produce the configuration options in nix. Otherwise, should it change, we would be dependent on people reporting that their config stopped working. If there's a schema then I can make this automatic per-release.

Howdy for settings OpenClaude reads ~/.openclaude/settings.json, .openclaude/settings.json, and .openclaude/settings.local.json OPENCLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR moves the user config. The source of truth is the Zod SettingsSchema in src/utils/settings/types.ts, and schemaOutput.ts already converts it to JSON Schema. I couldn’t find that schema in the release package, so for Nix I’d generate it from each release tag

In my case it was in ~/.openclaude or ~/.openclaude.json

If I had either one pre-existing that was incorrect it would create the other and use that.
