Features request list for Pythonista

Hi Ole,

maybe you can integrate some new features also in Pythonista.

I missed the last time this 3 positions:

• Integration of Apple Health Kit to get Health information from your Smartphone (like Heart rate /bpm, etc.) Temporally i use a shortcuts file for this but its not really good, because the information are not always new.
• Integration of the Apple Watchkit (The Pyto App got something like this. I did not tested it, but it would be nice, if you can write screens and apps for your Watch.
• At last it would be really cool if there is a GUI-Builder app for the UI-Files for MAC, Windows or in a Web-App to create the GUI for a script.

I know a lot of things, but i think maybe you find an idea of this interesting.

That's certainly an interesting idea, and would give some interesting data for visualizations… I haven't looked into HealthKit very much so far, and I've always been concerned that app review might not approve apps that aren't in the health/fitness category accessing this data… I've just looked at the guidelines again though, and they don't seem to explicitly say that. I'd still be a little concerned that it might lead to problems in app review.

I've experimented with that a little bit a few years ago, and didn't really find many compelling use cases. Debugging was also a hassle, and it seems like the kind of thing that takes a lot of work to maintain, while very few people would actually use it.

With the WatchUI it would be great as a remote controller over your iphone or a status controller for data visualisation. I think i would find a lot of usage for this :) BR kami

First of all: thanks for your wonderful Pythonista app. I am one of your biggest fans!

Would it be possible to add the greenlet module to Pythonista? Then, I would be able to make use of my discrete event simulation package 'salabim' (www.salabim.org) without yield statements. That would be really great!

I suppose adding tkinter is more than a bridge too far. I am just dreaming now ...

Not so much a feature request but a performance request.
In version 3.4 (and before), loading a big program (>25000 lines) takes a long time (30-60 seconds). Would it be possible to increase this loading dramatically? That would certainly help me!

My only request is fixing widgets in the latest ios versions, they are not available at all in the "today view".
Pythonista was the ONLY app to provide scriptable interactive widgets and they were indispensable for a lot of users!

Please, healthkit integration!!! This would be super useful for sports/fitness nerds to analyze wellness and fitness data and move that data to applications on the web!!!!

i would like to ask, if it is possible to integrate a Copy-Function for Folders and Files. If i select a folder i can only move it to another location.

It would be extremely nice if you could support the greenlet module. That makes using my discrete event simulation package 'salabim' on Pythonista even more useful.

i had started a question, trying to install scikit-learn on iphone, before i read your interest in same. i have researched and concluded the answer there, in that post. you could check it out.

not sure if i should move that post into this thread, feature request list for pythonista. this forum/ discussions doesn't seem to have a native way to migrate posts so i am not sure the protocol.

Would it be a huge work to include FLET (flutter for python) as a module in Pythonista ? As Flet is a cross platform UI library (macOS, windows, linux, iOS, iPadOS.

some files not showing under recently closed

some files i have opened do not appear under the recently closed option of the new page +

this happens when using the navigation menu over any opened file. when selecting a file from the navigation pane it replaces the file i was looking at while browsing the directories with the file i selected, not good, and there is no record of that file being closed under the recently closed option

care has to be taken to open a new page/ tab and make sure the focus is on that page/ tab before opening any other page or else you have to go searching for where you left off to retrieve that closed file.

can i suggest every page selected is opened in its own tab if it is not already open or would it be possible to list that file closed by the system in the recently close option?

btw, i had this request out in the community pool and have closed it there, closed but not deleted.
