Anyone able to get the 1.0 release to work?

I have tried installing both Win98 Stock and Micro_DX8.1 for version 1.0 and not getting anywhere. I am installing this on a P2 machine in 86box. I go through the prompts to partition the hard disk and set it to boot, then under the configuration part I have tried both "write MBR and set partition active" and "format target partition" and when it completed and tells me to reboot, it just comes back with "missing operating system". When I use a windows boot disk to use fdisk, I see the C: drive is partitioned and formatted and I also see files, when I do a "dir" in the C: drive, but it will not boot.
Anyone else having issues?

EDIT: I can get 0.9.6 working just fine.

EDIT #2: I can get this to work if I use a Windows 98 Boot disk to set partitions and format the drive. For some reason I am not successful when using the tools to do that on the QI boot disk. This may be due to my own ignorance.

Can you give me your 86box configuration and a screenshot of how exactly you created the disk image?

I will paste my 86box config below. But you know what, I think you are on to something. I have had issues in the past with the hard disk being setup in 86box as dynamic, so most times I set it as a fixed size. I will try again with a fixed size HDD and get back with you.

I created a fixed disk this time and I still have the same results. I am a bit confused on the installation choices though. I have a screenshot and I have tried to top 2 selections so far. Maybe I am doing something wrong?

This BIOS has a bug with auto detection for some reason, please force the disk to LBA mode in the BIOS, then it works...

Dang! You're awesome! As soon as I switched that in the BIOS it booted up right away. Thank you very much for the quick response and help. I'm newish to the retro PC stuff, so I'll have to investigate what this "LBA" mode is.

Also, thanks for all the work you put into this Quick Installation media. It does not go unappreciated. I have been installing Windows 98 a lot lately on 86box and some real hardware, so this is a huge time saver.
