Snapshot content screen still too high

I run v3.1.0-beta6/npbackup-windows-x64-legacy-gui-public.zip on Windows7.
I copy conf file from working setup into program folder.

I have to copy my restic.exe from working set to see a non empty snapshot list.
Then it works... I try to look into snapshot. And look how it is on a my laptop screen 1366×768. On bottom blurred taskbar. Remember — there no «window resize» option.

When try Configure→Advanced opens error popup

then it crashed

Thanks for the report.
Curiously, the restic binary comes with the legacy build.
Are you using win 7 SP1 x64 ? If so, I'll have to install a VM to make some tests on those old systems.

Yes, latest of possible windows 7 x64, with ~ all recommended patches.

@iav what window is that? because on W11 with 100% windows scaling and 1080p screen the main snapshot window is less than 432 pixels. Ah i see now it is the Content window.. that one is 759 pixels high, too much for 768p screen with taskbar.

EDIT : W7 has different window borders compared to W10 and W11. so your pixels wil vary a handful up and down...

As first workaround @deajan explained me you can click in the window near the border and move it up and down with your mouse. Then you can at least reach the bottom buttons.
As second temporary workaround you can try to start npbackup-gui like this? it works for me to "scale" all npbackup smaller ( < 1.0 ) or larger ( > 1.0 )

@iav I've created a separate issue for the restic binary in #198
Of course, the logs would have been helpful, but I got them after tinkering around to patch a Win7 VM ;)
Anyway, I will fix #198 and then comment on this.

@iav There's definitly not much I can do for really small screens...
Here are some screenshots of what I am achieving on 800x600 screen size:

There's definitly a minimum size, and 800x600 (which was my goal) is not doable without many glitches and bugs.
So my minimum target seems to be 1280x800, which seems pretty fair in 2026 :)

I'll rebuilt a beta 7 with current UI and restic fixes today.

Please make a proper error report for this in a separate issue.
I cannot find the error with such lack of info.
When making the report, please run with --debug, and post logs and possibly an anoymized conf file.

@iav Thanks. In the meantime, I've just uploaded beta7 which should deal with windows legacy builds #198 and have another try at smaller screens. Feedback as always welcome.
