An agent can discover and read MCP resources without a second skill type.

Requirements

• List direct resources and resource templates.
• Add one bounded generic resource read operation.
• Preserve the URI, MIME type, source server, and generation.
• Apply the existing MCP server permission.
• Reject stale or unknown descriptors.
• Support resource template arguments.
• Return explicit errors for unsupported content.
• Do not copy resource bodies into the skill index.
• Integrate resource changes with the subscription issue.
