Request for Permission to Fork and Continue Development

First off, thank you for sharing SeeThroughWindows—it's a really neat tool and I’ve found it super useful. I’m interested in forking the project to continue development, possibly under a new name, while of course giving full credit to you and any other contributors.

Since there’s currently no explicit license that I see of, I wanted to check with you first and make sure you’re okay with this. If you’d prefer a particular way of attribution or have any conditions, just let me know!

Just to keep you in the loop, I’ve already bumped SeeThroughWindows up to .NET 9.0 and put together a re-distributable version that’s easy to install via Scoop. If you’re curious, the updated source is here:

And now anyone can install the fork with:

Of course, I want to make sure you’re comfortable with this and that proper credit goes to you and the original contributors. If for any reason you’d prefer I take down the fork or the Scoop distribution, just let me know—I’m more than happy to do so, no hard feelings. All MOBZystems code is free to use in whichever way you like, so knock yourself out ;-)

That said, I think I'd like to make a distinction between "just" distributing the app and actually contributing to its functionality. (Supporting .NET 9 falls somewhat short in the last category in my opinion, but thats debatable). For now, you have "just" created an alternative distribution method, which might be better suited to a regular PR to our github. However, if you're adding featues etc. publishing it nder your own name is fine by me (see above ;-)) but an attribution (and a link to mobzystems.com) would be appreciated.

I'm not going to tell you what to do, but if you're considering actively adding to STW, you might also contribute to our github, instead of in your fork, unless of course your version really deviates (or will deviate) from what SDTW is now. Which is small and focused ;-).

You make an excellent point about the distinction between distribution and functionality contributions. I've actually been developing somewhat new features beyond just .NET 9 support, and after reading your response, I'd much prefer to contribute these back to the main project via PRs rather than maintaining a separate fork!

Here's what I currently have out there in the open as a beta-release:

• ✨ Auto-apply transparency feature - automatically applies transparency settings
• 🌐 Global reset functionality - manage transparency across all windows
• 🎨 Catppuccin theme system - multiple color flavors and accent colors
• 🏗️ Enhanced and modular application service architecture - improved window management

For now, I've made my enhanced version available via Scoop bucket as an interim solution, but I'd much rather contribute to the original project!

I've maintained full attribution to your original work and included links to mobzystems.com as requested. The enhanced beta-version is available via my Scoop bucket for easy installation:
