Purpose of this repo ?

Hi,

The home page of this repo states:

This repo welcomes contributions and suggestions.

However, it's very unclear what we can expect from this repo.

I'm building spfx solutions for years, often facing a lot of frustration because of the lack of customizability of the build chain (gulpfile.js is very limited in what we can do), and the poor developer experience. I'm convinced embracing open source may help to improve this.

I found this repo, but there is no clue if we can fork it, how to use it (how to use or forked version).

Can you clarify?

Bless you for saying this. I am at a loss for the poor quality DX and lack of adherence to anything like best practices (testing, CI) for a very widely used system.
