What happened?

Good Day,

I have just tried this software for the first time and I am having trouble with the program insisting that WineSteam is not installed, despite having installed it during the onboarding wizard process and having downloaded the correct version online and attempting to configure it properly. Am I missing something on my end? This is most likely a user error issue.

I am currently aware of this issue and working on it, can I ask if you have sakiragur installed or crossover as well? Currently the main problem has been when users have another wine installed, the program deploys the steam wrapper to a wrong location or tries to launch against something else. Would like to know if this is the case for you? If so you can expect this to be resolved soon.

Ah, yes, it seems I did have a copy of Crossover installed. I attempted to wipe and reinstall after getting rid of Crossover but am still having the same issue. I'm assuming there are probably residual files still tripping it up. Thanks for the quick response :)

For a temporary fix, just to help you wipe metalsharp correctly and try again now that crossover is not installed, from your terminal you can run:

rm -rf ~/.metalsharp
rm -rf /Users/(your home drive name)/.metalsharp ; Example: rm -rf /Users/averyfelts/.metalsharp

This will wipe any stale artifacts left behind, though the app does contain an uninstall button in settings that can do this command for you and throw the app in the trash. I'm hoping for clarity if the issue is persistent even after not having another wine installed.

Perfect! I want to push an update but I've been working hard on the next 0.60.0 update so much that I've been a bit limited as to being able to do that right now for the current program. I will keep this issue open because I'm going to ensure it actually gets resolved on the next release, and close it once I'm positive about it. Thanks for playing!
