D2R Steam version fails to read, "Failed to read data files from D2 folder." error

Steam version use unsupported (By CascLib) data format, I confirmed this by trying to open steam folder with
http://www.zezula.net/en/casc/main.html
I am not a specialist in blizzard storages and if the most suitable tool for this storage I can't do anything about it. Just hope Ladislav will update his lib someday so whatever format steam D2R using, will work.

I will keep issue open for visibility but put won't fix.

@IchigoM8 I understand A LOT of mods can work with steam, but that's because they never read game data itself. My tool is bound to depend on actual game data (reading it, modiying and creating the mod). So this is very unfortunate for my project, you can blame me on that part. Yes there is different approach is to store tables for any possible game version, but this is a maintenance hell.
Current approach allow things 'just work' when new release come (like battlenet update works without any change, actually, with older d2modgen).

Current steam situation is unfortunate and I hope some kind of solution will be in the future.

Sad, have to play the blizzard edition, if want to play with certain mods.
Guess then will enjoy the vanilla online experience, or hero editor modified offline in the meantime.

As a workaround - you can send me your json config of the mod, I export it with battlenet version, zip and attach here, you extract it in steam folder. Won't work if you change modgen settings often.
Or if you have battlenet D2R (even without RotW payed there!) you can do it youself. Select bnet path, export, then copy mod folder to D2R/mods folder.
