So, I mainly use Win11 and WSL for daily needs, while I do dual boot linux, but still, my main operating system is Win11, which causes a lack of availability. @

use virtualbox with ubuntu, it works perfect. wsl has a lot of hidden nuances and it may be too difficult to maintain a version for it. also check branch librepods for windows

what a horrendous comparison, why would u bother running a vm just for airpods features which can be obtained by spending a few pounds. If you've got the money to buy airpods you can spend a few extra bucks for some nice features

Im on a midway to finish a port to windows (with a custom ANC support, when I finish to add support for the librepods UI, I will share what i got, to give context, I can manage form my C drive the batery levels, volume, anc modes, etc..)

In the between time I'm also finishing an easier tray system app to manage the airpods. The drivers are already working, it also fixed a static issue I had on windows with my airpods pro 3.

This driver supports all apple airpods.

Update: the native Windows port is now up for review at #716 (it supersedes the earlier draft #710). No WSL, no Bumble, no re-pairing.

It's now a self-contained windows/ folder at the repo root (next to android/) — a headless daemon owns two open-source kernel drivers (AAP L2CAP + a virtual mic) and serves a native C# / WinUI 3 app over IPC. Zero changes to the Linux app.

Hardware-validated on real AirPods Pro: battery (L/R/case), noise control, ear-detection auto-pause, hi-res AAC-ELD microphone as a real Windows input (validated by an actual recording), per-person hearing-aid audiogram, conversational-awareness ducking, adaptive/personalized volume, rename, connection island + toasts, 4-language UI. Heart rate is implemented but blocked on current AirPods Pro 3 firmware (the protocol changed — unmapped on any platform), so it ships off by default.

The drivers are test-signed, so Test Mode is required for now (a no-Test-Mode build would need EV + Microsoft attestation signing).
