how does it work

i selected a camera to test but that camera is still showing. how to set an image or a video to show instead of my camera for example?

I'm not sure I've understood you. Are you trying to use a virtual camera while the USB(for example) camera is still being used? Then no way. You need to stop the USB camera first and then you can use it as a source for the virtual camera.
If you can't see the virtual camera in the list of available cameras in your app, you need to run VirtualCamProxy as an admin to ensure the DirectShow driver starts properly.

There's nothing to show on a video. It's just a few controls only.
Can you please describe the problem more clearly? Any steps to reproduce?
