only errors are shown?

Hi and thanks for this extension. It has having a discrete success!

Today I got in a little discussion: https://lore.kernel.org/all/e0f3f20e-8788-4534-82d1-0ec2e4c41680@kernel.org/ and I wonder... If I see errors and got the level set to Information why am I not being warned about anything but errors? Is it me not seeing the highlighting or is there something else going on?

Hi, the extension reports all checkpatch message types (WARNING / ERROR / CHECK).

The checkpatch.diagnosticLevel setting controls how these messages are displayed in the editor, not which ones are detected.

Set it to Error for a red squiggle
Warning for an orange squiggle
Information for a blue squiggle
Hint for a dotted underline

I managed to understand too late. Sorry.

Apparently one warning was not displayed, probably checkpatch.pl own fault? Does it make any different running it fomr /usr/bin rather than kernel sources?

@NeroReflex I don't think there should be any difference. If you have any reproducible problem, please describe here and I'll try to debug.
