After updating Mantine to version 8, Mantine datatable works as before. This thread was created for feedback on the upgrade to Mantine 8.x. I think it would be useful to collect feedback on using Mantine Datatable in Mantine 8.x if there was a single list in case of errors.

It doesn’t work in this version. There are compatibility issues with v8 that prevent it from running properly

It didn’t work, so I had to roll it back. There’s no timeline yet for when the migration will actually happen, and I’d rather not hack the code just to make it work temporarily

I already used MantiveProvider in the main.jsx.

I also try to create MantiveProvider before DataTable, but got same error.

Due to some personal health issues I've been kept away from work for a while, but upgrading Mantine DataTable to v8 is definitely on my to do list.
I'm way behind on my work, so It's just a matter of me finding the time and energy to do it.
I'm a bit reluctant to making promises, but let's hope I'll be able to do something about it next week.

Meanwhile, please remember that sponsoring the project would help a lot ;-)

Mantine DataTable is used by many companies and developers across the world, however very few of them are actually supporting it with financial contributions.
The generated monthly estimated income is $16, which of course means I'm constrained to prioritize commercial work...

FYI, I just finished updating Mantine ContextMenu to Mantine 8.1; had to also do some housekeeping: moved from yarn to pnpm, had to update the code examples mechanism due to https://mantine.dev/changelog/8-0-0/#codehighlight-changes, etc.
Everything went all right in the end, so I expect to be able to upgrade the DataTable soon too.

Just to keep everyone posted and engaged, here are the major challenges that Mantine DataTable is currently facing (any help would be more than welcomed):

• Severe lack of funding.
  It is my dearest OSS project but like everyone else I must cover my living expenses and therefore have to prioritize commercial work when available. Finding a few recurrent sponsors would help a lot...

• Conflicting PRs.
  While initially Mantine DataTable started with a limited set of features, lots of things were added in time; people came up with useful requests - and sometimes those features were kind of conflicting, so I had to regularly do patchwork to make sure everything works as a whole. I'll have to admit that making sure a PR doesn't break preexistent features involves addtional work and manual testing that most people aren't willing to commit. Due to to highly "visually interactive" nature of the project, setting up a useful battery of tests is not a trivial matter and was somehow indefinitely pushed in the backlog.

• Looking for a co-maintainer.
  Like I said on previous occasions, though Mantine DataTable is used by many developers and companies across the world, there's no company backing it - it's just me.
  For the long-term benefit of the project, it would be great if another member of the community would volunteer to help as co-maintainer.
  Ideally she/he would need to have a vested interest - such as using the project in commercial applications.

  Perks include, but are not limited to:

  • free health bar
  • competitive financial compensation
  • stock vesting

  Just kidding, you'd have do it for fame, glory and an eternal place in Valhalla 🥇 😄

@icflorescu Wishing you the best of health and thanks for your hard work on this project. In terms of monetizing it, so you can maintain it properly and get compensated for your time, I would suggest following the business model used by react-admin or AG-Grid. These cmopanies have open-source and closed-source packages. So in your case:

1. Develop premium NPM packages that people will pay for. So for example, searching and filtering is not very well handled by the library, but you can probably develop a premium NPM package that does this better. There are many other types of premium features you can develop. You can then charge a per NPM package fee for installation or charge a monthly fee for access to all premium packages with some level of support for updates (not custom coding).
2. Make it easier to hire you for enterprise/custom work. It's not so clear from the app page, how to hire you. It says to find you on Github and email you. I don't think that works for most companies. Maybe have a page, on the site which someone can fill out to have you work on a project. There are many projects that use your library that would benefit from your help. I think if you made it easier to hire you and list your rates, you'd get alot of clients.
