From 2c02e647527ba2b5113fd848497be8175d0487fe Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Johnathan94 Date: Wed, 15 Jul 2026 02:07:39 +0300 Subject: [PATCH] Fix invisible click barrier when dock is hidden on X11 The dock container is a full-width chrome actor that keeps its size when the dock slides out. Since it is tracked with affectsInputRegion defaulting to true, its whole rect stays in the shell's X11 stage input region even while hidden, so clicks in the bottom band of the screen never reach the application windows underneath (#317). Wayland ignores the stage input region, which is why this only shows up on X11. Register the container with affectsInputRegion: false. Clicks on the visible dock are already handled through the struts actor, and the 2px dwell strip still reveals the dock at the edge. --- dock.js | 5 ++++- 1 file changed, 4 insertions(+), 1 deletion(-) diff --git a/dock.js b/dock.js index d3202ad..1c6a593 100644 --- a/dock.js +++ b/dock.js @@ -436,7 +436,10 @@ export let Dock = GObject.registerClass( Main.layoutManager.addChrome(this, { affectsStruts: false, - // affectsInputRegion: false, + // keep the full-width container out of the input region — on X11 it + // would otherwise block clicks near the screen edge while the dock + // is hidden (#317); struts carries input when the dock is visible + affectsInputRegion: false, trackFullscreen: true, });
