PHPStorm GUI is quite slow

have you found any way how to speed up the PHPStorm GUI? The main menu, inline editing and the autocomplete are quite slow.

SSH tunneling with compression? Any special configuration?

Does this happen with a local install of PhpStorm or only with the dockerised version? I can't see a reason for the dockerised version being slower than local, the times I run in to this is on an underspec'd machine.

it happens with the dockerised PHPStorm version (Docker for Windows, VM has 4GM RAM and 2 cores assigned). When I run PHPStorm in the native OS (Win10Pro), everything runs smoothly.

I'm not the only one having such problems, see https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-114210

Which host OS do you use? Mac/Win/Linux? If Mac/Win, which X11 host client do you use?
