changing contrast on selections for the next update #72

This is a request from a volunteer (Nancy) via the bug form. It seems like an easy fix that would improve accessibility so I think we should do it the next time we're updating the app. Not urgent.

One more bit of feedback, also mentioned by me previously as a “nice to have” rather than a bug, but I think it is very important, and more than a nice to have feature. The contrast between selected and unselected options in the buttons (type of pika sign, size of talus patch, etc.) is insufficient in the field for people for those with old eyes or wearing polarized sunglasses. I really have difficulty seeing which buttons are selected - to the point that I sometimes cannot tell the difference in sunlight. To me, a high priority user interface change is to change the contrast so that the buttons change to dark background with light font when selected - or at least have a wider and darker border. This would make it easier to avoid accidentally submitting incorrect observations, especially for people who submit while in the field. While in the attached screenshot the color differences from actual app show fairly well to me indoors, this is not so in the field. Also, best practices for UI development include not having the only difference between selected and unselected be color, because part of the population has color vision impairments. This includes not only the mostly men born with red/green color problems, but also those with retinal or optic nerve deterioration that makes it hard to see some other colors (that would be me, as well as having some form of red/green impairment).

Left is screen shot, middle is edited to show high contrast, right to outline the selected buttons.
