I'm kind of regretting making everything pointers. There are so many runtime nil checks that need to be made. I'm wondering if I should go through and change this behavior to make things a bit more clean. Obviously, some things will need to be checked for nil at runtime, but it would be nice to make better use of the type system than save on memory as of right now.
