Hello maintainers,

First, thank you for your work on Inert! I noticed that the last release (7.1.0) was published in March 2023 and there hasn’t been a new release since then. I wanted to ask:
Are there any plans for future releases or continued maintenance of this library?
Is the project considered feature-complete and stable, or should we anticipate further updates?
This would help us to plan the usage of Inert for future projects.

@mirza-azhar Yes indeed it maintained and there are periodic updates.. Check out recent PRs.

As far as features and functionality, this plugin is quite straight forward and stable. There hasn't been much to add since like 2021. Most releases are for dependencies, auxiliary config, etc. If there will be any future changes, it'd be to support future NodeJS versions and the external API shouldn't change much, if at all.

Nothing specific that we’re looking for right now—our main concern was ensuring that any known or reported security vulnerabilities are addressed in a timely manner. In the event that a security issue arises in the future, could you please share what the process would be for handling and patching such vulnerabilities?
Also, what is the recommended way to get the latest releases, especially those that have updated dependencies? Should we just update to the latest version on npm as they become available, or do you recommend following a specific release branch or tag?
We appreciate your efforts in keeping the project stable and maintained.

@mirza-azhar From my experience, the team is on top of security AND compatibility (Node 24, etc) regularly. For policy, I'll defer to @Marsup for detail, but I believe it's all covered within the org's repos, eg:
