I also found this approach for information extraction rather interesting. The best way to start to figure out how their system works is to read the paper:

I couldn't find it anywhere for free, so I bought it. In my opinion, the slides contain everything that you need to know, no big surprises in the paper.
I like the idea, but it's not explained in more detail than on the slides. Also the evaluation is not well done, so replication on different tasks would be very interesting to see :)
