The Git for Windows v2.55.0.windows.5 release said:

Git for Windows' installer is now a 64-bit executable (x64 instead of 86).

Did this fix actually take effect? I observe in Task Manager, and directly via dumpbin, that the installer is still 32-bit. (Below, hello64.exe and hello32.exe are Hello World executables I built to verify that dumpbin /headers can detect the difference.)

Observed the same on my arm64 device:

Inno Setup still builds 32-bit installers by default, see the release notes for 7.0.0-beta:

Building 32-bit installers is the default in both editions. Set new [Setup] section directive SetupArchitecture to x64 to build a 64-bit x64 installer instead of a 32-bit x86 installer. This also changes the default values of ArchitecturesAllowed and ArchitecturesInstallIn64BitMode to x64compatible, making 64-bit installers default to 64-bit install mode.

/add relnote bug The installer is now actually a 64-bit one, which fixes the problem that the external OpenSSH option was broken in Git for Windows v2.55.0(5).

The workflow run was started
