Login/Signup Image fails to apply

I tried to apply an image but it failed and it made my server crashes (1GB RAM). The image is smaller than 4MB. It's jpg format.

I tried it on demo site, it didn't crash. However, image failed to apply.

I tried another picture that was around 731 KB, the server crashed again. However, when server was back online, image was applied.
