fuse version < 3 will not be maintained going forward, but fuse 3.* has introduced some breaking changes (I believe headers were renamed to signify that) which likely need some changes to HFuse.
A new release with support for fuse 3.* would be appreciated since it would allow removing dependencies on unmaintained and security relevant software in Nixpkgs.
