Hello how can I get a single-line input text field to wrap? Right now it just stays a fixed size, but I'd like the dialog (or the input field) to increase height as more text gets entered. I think I'm just not familiar with styling enough to understand what to do. Here's what I tried. In my <style name="MyCustomDialogTheme" parent="ThemeOverlay.MaterialComponents.Dialog.Alert">

You can just set the multiline input type: SimpleFormDialog.build()

Ah no what I'm trying to do is have a single line input that wraps and expands in size. In my example the user is entering a long URL or a long description, and just want to make it convenient for them to enter long text and see several lines of it at a time. I'm actually not sure it's possible or if it's common but wanted to ask if there's something obvious I'm missing |

Sorry for late reply. That's a good point, I could just 'emulate' a large single-line-that-wraps by removing the newlines in It's a little awkward for the end user since they'll have entered a newline, and the newline disappears later, but at least they'll get the wrapped view which is convenient. So I added While typing: In the onResult I do a After reopening:

Wait there's an easier way, with validation! I just prevent newlines, that's it, all solved. Thanks so much for such a flexible library. SimpleFormDialog.build()

Indeed. Personally, I would still prefer to do the replacement in code, and not to force users to search for and replace invisible characters themselves, but that's up to you. |
