Error messages from trap in timers not showing

Starting server with PocketIcServer.start({showRuntimeLogs:false, showCanisterLogs:true })
Debug.print(...) shows in console
Canister trapping (ex: Debug.trap(...)), division by zero,.. doesn't show in timers/heartbeat
Not entirely sure if the problem is in pic-js, pocketic or Motoko

It's possible to show these logs, but requires an update to pic-js. If you're interested in contributing, this PR on the Rust library implements what's needed: dfinity/ic#2533. Otherwise, I should be able to get to this myself in the coming weeks.

The Rust library PR effectively makes a query call to the management canister's endpoint fetch_canister_logs, see spec.

It's pretty bad when we can't see traps in the log. Also log formatting is bugged

[canister short] : The custom debug print message
if significant time passed since last message (ex: using advanceTime)

Example:
lxzze-o7777 : My message
⏳ +4 hours 20 min 10 sec

canister could be colored gray as well

We did not prioritize fixing canister log formatting since canister logs can be retrieved by a dedicated query call to the management canister. Prioritizing support for that functionality in pic-js is up to @nathanosdev .

You don't need to make a query call to fetch canister logs after every IC call - it is enough to make such a query call to fetch canister logs when you actually want to inspect them (the logs are appended into a circular buffer).
