erdify 0.10.0 — embed the ERD in Markdown (--inject)

erdify 0.10.0 is out 🎉

Embed your ERD directly in Markdown. Install with pip install -U erdify (or bump your pre-commit rev to v0.10.0).

New: --inject

A standalone .mmd/.puml file doesn't render on GitHub. --inject writes the diagram into an existing markdown file between marker comments, so it shows up natively. Add the markers once:

erdify ./db --inject README.md          # writes a ```mermaid block by default
erdify ./db --inject README.md --check  # CI: fail if the diagram is stale, write nothing

• Only the marked region is rewritten — the rest of the file (including CRLF line endings) is preserved byte-for-byte.
• Mermaid by default (renders on GitHub/GitLab); the fence tag follows --format. --format html and multiple formats are rejected with --inject.
• Docs are sacred: a missing file or missing/reversed markers → error, nothing written.
• Combine with --check in pre-commit/CI to catch a stale README diagram. Also settable as inject in [tool.erdify].

Compatibility

Additive and opt-in — nothing changes unless you pass --inject.
